Primary Care Visits

At A Plus Medical, the annual physicals and wellness visits are very comprehensive. We dedicate at least 30 to 45 minutes for this annual visit. After the interview with the triage person, the doctor will perform a thorough checkup.

  • An eye exam is done and, if need be, a referral is made
  • An audiometry exam is done using our hearing screener
  • For women, breast self-exam is taught by the RN on staff
  • Educational information is given to patients on their follow-up visit, depending on the lab results

Available Primary Care Services

Pregnancy tests are among the routine tests performed in our office at the discretion of the doctor and before any birth control medication is given.

Pap smears are performed once a year in association with the physical. Abnormal results are referred immediately to an OB / gynecologist.

Prostate exams are noninvasive tests done in association with the yearly physical for male patients over the age of 40.

Glucose testing (HgbA1c) is done as part of the physical. If a patient is diagnosed as being diabetic, the HgbA1c test is done every 3 to 4 months in the office. Diabetic education and teaching information are provided at the same time.

EKGs and spirometry are used to examine all patients over the age of 40 or those who have had a diagnosis of high blood pressure or shown signs of cardiovascular symptoms.
